The Power of a 5–9

When most people think about their life, it starts and ends with their 9–5. Wake up, go to work, come home, eat dinner, scroll on your phone, go to sleep. Rinse, repeat.
But here’s the thing—life isn’t meant to be lived on autopilot.
If you want a fulfilled life, you need something outside of work. A 5–9 before or after your 9–5. Something you pour yourself into. Something that challenges you, excites you, and makes the grind of everyday life meaningful.
I see life as two buckets:
You do your passion for your job.
You have a job, and you do your passion outside of it.
That’s it. Those are the only two lanes. And the best part? You don’t have to be forced into one or the other. You get to choose.
Not everyone is meant to be a Kobe, a Bezos, or a Messi. And that’s okay. Fulfillment doesn’t come from being the 1% of the world—it comes from finding the 1% of you. That thing that makes you feel alive.
Your passion doesn’t have to be world-changing. It just has to change your world.
So ask yourself—what’s your 5–9?
Because without it, life is just rinse and repeat.
